Changes to the Script/ Shot Breakdown:
Here is a list of the shots that I will have to alter if I use the same actress for both the singer and narrative character:
17. Mid- shot- band members leaning over the wall to sing ‘Is that what you really want?’ girl walks through and out of this shot.
18. Extreme long shot (tracking) girl carries on down the road, male band member appears singing and playing the guitar, other band members appear on her other side to join in singing ‘Day-oh’
32. Long shot (side view), girl runs past wall, band members are stood against it with picture frames around their faces.
35. Medium long shot- girl band member leant against fence singing girl runs into shot
44. Long shot- girls runs past band , their heads follow her 2 secs
17. Mid- shot- band members leaning over the wall to sing ‘Is that what you really want?’ girl walks through and out of this shot.
I will change this to a shot of the girl just walking past with the male singer in the shot.
18. Extreme long shot (tracking) girl carries on down the road, male band member appears singing and playing the guitar, other band members appear on her other side to join in singing ‘Day-oh’
The main female singer will not appear in this shot, I think this will work because she will not be singing at that present time so does not need to shown in the shot.
32. Long shot (side view), girl runs past wall, band members are stood against it with picture frames around their faces.
I will split this shot so I will have a shot of the girl running then another of the band singing with the frames by themselves.
35. Medium long shot- girl band member leant against fence singing girl runs into shot
I will, again, have to split the shot into two parts so the audience will see the girl running towards the camera then looking shocked/frustrated then the shot will flick to the female singer then back to the girl running away.
44. Long shot- girls runs past band , their heads follow her 2 secs
The female singer will not be in the shot as the girl runs past- the audience will just see the male singer and the drummer.

Ideas to Incorporate in My Music Video- Main Artist as the Actress
This is a video I found by The Foo Fighters. I really like how they have used the members of the band in the narrative of the story e.g. pilot, air hostess, passengers. Although this will make filming slightly trickier because I will have to plan very specifically all the shots with the actress in one costume then the singer costume and I will also have to cut/ change certain scenes such as shot 32: 'Long shot (side view), girl runs past wall, band members are stood against it with picture frames around their faces ' to accommodate the change, I think it will be worth it as it will emphasise how the main singer is acting as the narrative's conscience.

Ideas to Incorporate in My Music Video- Actress Joining in with the Vocals
Passion Pit- Carried Away
At 2.30mins the actress (who isn't part of the band) in the music video sings some of the lyrics to the song. I want to incorporate this into my music video because I think it would work really well and emphasise how the band are 'getting under her skin' because they are constantly there with her. I would get my actress to sing the 'Day-Oh' parts of the song as this sounds, to me, like an aspirated expression- which will fit in well with the mood of the actress- and make the audience sympathise more with her.

My Digipak Ideas...
Front of CD
Back of Booklet
Promotional Magazine Advert
I have decided to use this image because I am hoping to use a similar scene in my music video, showing synergy. I have made the female vocalist the main focus of the cover by having her as the only person facing towards the camera in order to make the band more profitable because she is the main selling point of the band. Also I liked the ideas of the frame because it will make audiences look at the faces of the artists more meaning they will recognise them and I also believe that this design is quirky and fits in with the 'indie' genre.
Back of CD
I have carried on the theme of the frames on the back of the CD to create synergy. This time I have added a sunflower in the frame which again shows the quirky, indie style of the band. I have shown the name of the band and album in the same font on the back as well as the front to again create synergy between the texts.
This will be the back of my booklet, although it doesn't really show any synergy between the other texts (except the artist will be wearing the same clothes) I think it will still work as I have linked all the other texts together well. I have decided to use this image because I wanted to show the personality of the band and their casual style. I have also added in the signatures of each band member to make it a bit more personal to the purchaser.
CD
This is quite a simple design however this fits in with the conventions of album CDs. Again I have used the theme of red in this text to carry on the theme and synergy throughout. I have used the designed font of the band and album to, again, link it to the texts. I have also put a copy right notice around the side of the CD as this is one of the conventions of real CD and will therefore make my piece look real and more professional.
Promotional Magazine Advert
I have used the same idea of the artists in the red frame that I used on my front and back cover as this synergises with the rest of the texts. I also aim to really show the fun and energetic style of the band (as I have shown on my earlier post 'digipak photo feel') as this fits in with the indie genre and it will make the band more relatable to their audiences. Also because I am using such bright colours their smiling attitude will fit in with this. I have tried to use as many conventions of promotional magazine adverts (The name of the band, the name of the album, the date it is out, the most popular single, the website of the band and the record company and a picture relating to the band's new album) as I could.

Music Artist Development...
My band is called 'Off the WALL'. I have decided on this name because it fits in with the indie genre and style because it is quirky and is the complete opposite of a 'wallflower' which shows connotations of the band being out-going and loud.
In the logo I have created I have also tried to relect this by giving the font a 'rough' style which I think will appeal to my target audience because it shows an ordinary, not perfect look which they can relate to.
My band will consist of three members...
The main female singer (Olivia) The main male singer/ guitarist (Cole)
What image do they portray?
-As they are an Indie band I want them to have an ordinary look that people can relate to but I also want to balance this with a stylised look as I think this will make them disirable.
- I want them to have a fun and laid- back look to them which also fits in with the Indie genre.
Backstory:
The band met shortly after leaving school, they decided to create a band when they all realised their talents. For three years they enjoyed making music and writing songs together without even thinking about making it into a career, then they were spotted whilst messing around with some harmonies on the bus. Because of the wealth of music they already had prepared they got straight into the studio recording for their debut album, which was released in 2012. They have just finished recording their second album 'Framed' which will be released this December. Although their time in the studio fills most of their days they still enjoy seeing their fans at gigs where they invite them to the stage to join in and they are constantly being told off for running around the venues to meet the crowds.
Artists comparible to them...

Digipak photography 'feel'
I really want the photography on my digipak to reflect the fun style of the band as I think this will promote them to the target audience. I have really taken inspiration from these images...

...as they reflect the cheeky, fun style that the band portray. I want the pictures to be bright and look natural as I think this fits in with the indie style and would allow my target audience to connect more with the band. Also by making the pictures bright makes them more eye catching and therefore entice more people to look into/ buy the album.

Analysing Ancillary Texts- The Wombats 'This Modern Glitch'
Front of the CD Case:
Key Conventions (Front Cover):- The name of the band in their recognised font
- The name of the album
- A main picture (which usually shows the artists) and sometimes links to the album title.
How does the design appeal to the target audience:
- It is bright so stands out which would catch peoples attention and make them want to buy the CD.
- The picture is set on a beach which suggests a laid back style which fits in with indie genre and style and therefore the target audience
-The clothes that the models are wearing are very casual which also fits with the indie genre and therefore the target audience.
- The concept of the image is very quirky which makes it different and stands out which would appeal to the target audience and make them want to buy it.
What do the design elements suggest about the...
Artist-
- The bright colours and the beach setting- with picnic- suggests that the artist is laid back and fun which could reflect the album content.- The font looks like it could have been written in felt-tip pen and the letters are all slightly different sizes in capitals- this suggests that the band are slightly different and that they don't want to look ordinary. The capitals make the name stand out suggesting that the band is a loud and bold.
- By not showing the artists' faces shows that they are confident (as it is their second album) that people will recognise them by their signature style e.g. hair, clothes and stature.
- Also because all the band members are level (the main singer doesn't stand out more than the other members, which sometimes happens on other albums because it makes it easier to sell a face) shows that they work well together and emphasises that they are a band and not just a single person

Genre-
- As I have already mentioned the clothing of the models shows the casual indie style of the band
-And the whole concept of the image shows the quirky, indie style
Messages and themes-
- The concept/ design of the album image links with the name of the album 'This Modern Glitch' as it shows people holding images up to their faces- this portrays that in the modern age people can put up any façade they want to on the internet with no worries about showing their true identities (this may also be why the band have decided to not show their faces as they believe in the message they are trying to convey). By doing this it shows a 'deeper' level to the band which suggests that the lyrics to their songs will be too.How does this text synergise with the others in the digipak:
.It uses the same theme (holding things over their faces) as the other texts
.It uses the same colour scheme (light blues) as the other texts (excluding the CD)
.The picture of the chez lounge is carried on to the magazine advert- carrying on the quirky original style.

- The colours are bright and would therefore appeal to the target audience because it makes it more eye catching and exciting.
